Research is the driving force behind innovation. The concept of evidence based medicine is founded on the putting into practice the most striking results of clinical research.
The challenge in evidence based medicine is managing the transition from research, through to the practice of large scale trials and vice versa from the patient's bedside back to the researcher.
The majority of practitioners find it difficult to keep pace with the rapid rhythm of innovations in cardiovascular therapy. To date, there has been no event dedicated specifically to clinical trials in cardiovascular disease that brings together key decision makers, creators of clinical trial protocol, sponsors, investigators, regulatory authorities, clinical research associates, as well as cardiologists.
