Future & Young Trialists
There is increasing need to bolster clinical trial experience for CV fellows and junior faculty, and only limited options to pursue rigorous training and solid experience in clinical trials. Such experience is critical for ongoing studies and ensuring the development of expertise for clinical trial leadership. CVCT is committed to facilitate such endeavors.

More about CVCT Young Trialists Grant:
It was developed with the main goal of forming a new generation of investigators in cardiovascular field.
Fellows in training can apply for a Future Trialists grant to attend the annual CVCT forum and most of our fellow in training attendees would testify that attending CVCT is a real turning point in their career.
The intimate nature of CVCT provided them with the rare opportunity of having one-on-one conversations with many senior principal investigators/mentors with a long-record of clinical trials, that they would have never had access to otherwise, in big meetings nor at their educational institutions.
Our faculty at the annual forum constitutes 40% of the attendees; it is highest-level senior environment, at no other opportunity will a young fellow find themselves in the company of people from that caliber and have the opportunity to mix with them and learn from their expertise. CVCT gives them this opportunity
CVCT Fellowships for Future Trialists
Call for Application :
There is increasing need to bolster clinical trial experience for CV fellows and junior faculty, and only limited options to pursue rigorous training and solid experience in clinical trials. Such experience is critical for ongoing studies and ensuring the development of expertise for clinical trial leadership. CVCT is committed to facilitate such endeavors.
Increasing early-career minority participation at CVCT is critical to the overall mission to develop high-quality representative clinical trials.
Clinical trials remain underrepresented with respect to older adults, women, and racial/ethnic minority patients. Recent data have highlighted that clinical trialists who are of a certain demographic may be more successful in improving patient diversity. In support of diversity in early-career leaders in clinical trials, and in partnership with Industry, CVCT is supporting the development of young trialists of racial/ethnic minority background.
The CVCT Future Trialists Internship and Fellowship programs were created with industry partners to provide young trialists with these opportunities and experiences that are critical for their development.
Modes of selection and monitoring :
The CVCT Future Trialists review committee is comprised of CVCT leadership and industry partner representatives for the internship and fellowship programs. Selection will be based on expression of interest, willingness, preparedness, scientific merit and professional scheme.
The program will be monitored by the above committee through at least 3 face-to-face or teleconference personal interviews with the Future Trialist, during the year of training.
The selected Future Trialist may be requested to present regarding his/her experience and findings (if original data analysis are undertaken) at the annual CVCT sessions.

Fellowships
APPLICATIONS
The CVCT Future trialists fellowship initiative enables fellows in training and mid-career faculty to train, joining major principal investigators and mentor trialists as a "Steering Committee Mentee", joining the steering committee of an ongoing major clinical trial, as a full member, learning about the conduct of the trial, and data collection, analyses and interpretation, and co-authoring with the trial leadership secondary trial manuscripts.
The fellowship will furthermore give an opportunity to take part in internal scientific and operational training as applicable for the role, including being invited to the CVOT Review Meetings of ongoing large clinical trials in CV, metabolic and renal. Interactions of the Future Trialist in the internship should be broad, interacting with the COMPANY representative – but also with the academic faculty in the trials’ oversight committees.
